What SBA category is a SDVBO ?
Service disabled veterans business owners are listed in the SBA Other category. You are expected to prepare both a social and an economic disadvantage narrative focused on four areas: Your Family Background, Education (high school / post secondary), Career Experience, and Business History.

If I am a designated minority and SDVBO, can I apply as both?
No, we suggest you submit your application as a designated minority, so you only have to prove economic disadvantage.  If you apply as a SDVBO, you must prepare both the social and economic narratives.

What information will my narrative contain?
Thel disadvantage social and economic narrative contains references to your personal and professional failures, missed opportunities, overt and subtle discrimination or harassment in the workplace, and the financial hardships caused these events. We also compare your life prior to and after the disability.
