Who is considered a designated minority by the SBA?
The SBA recognizes five designated minorities:

What type of narrative should I prepare?
Since the SBA considers you to be socially disadvantaged, you need only to prepare an economic disadvantage narrative focused on three areas: Education (high school / college), Career experience, and Business History.
What information will my narrative contain?
A successful economic narrative contains references to your personal and professional failures, missed opportunities, overt and subtle discrimination or harassment in the workplace, and the financial hardships caused these events.
This is a “lemon” story stressing the negative and including specific detailed explanations of incidents of harassment that hopefully can be backed up by other eye witnesses who can supply a letter of support to you.
As a minority woman, can I apply as both a non-designated minority and woman?
No, you must decide to submit your application as a non-designated minority or as a woman business owner. Since you must prepare both the social and economic narratives for either designation, we will help you determine which category is best based your individual situation.
